The Hunt For Amelia Earhart

My recently released book: The Hunt For Amelia Earhart is the untold story of the 16 day search for Amelia Earhart following her disappearance on July 2, 1937 -- 70 years ago. The overview of the book can be seen at our YouTube at: http://www.specialbooks.com/AEHunt.htm

From the Introduction:
This book is based upon fact – the complete 200 page National Archive of logs and reports from the US Coast Guard and US Navy, Over 260 illustrations, over half of which are photographs, of which 100 are unpublished, plus seven first person accounts of the Earhart Search – a diary, two memoirs, three interviews, plus the keynote piece of this book – The James Carey Collection: his diary, letters, & photographs. No photograph, chart, or map was repeated within this book; note that not all photos were taken during the Earhart Search.
Within this publication all place names are those as they were in 1937, all times given are military time, referenced at Howland Island, and all mileages provided are nautical – there are 60 miles to 1°. Two letter US state codes and three letter country codes are used throughout. Fourteen charts of the Earhart Search are provided within the book for clarity, and succeeding charts in each chapter will show the continued search effort. The ship listed at the top of the right hand page, is the ship in charge at that time.
The Index lists over 25 aircraft, 70 ships, 80 islands, and 160 people. This is the story of the more than 3,000 men in the US Coast Guard and the US Navy in their search for Amelia Earhart, from the moment she disappeared on the morning of July 2nd, 1937, and for the next 16 days of the Earhart Search.

It was America's Greatest Search, it was The Hunt For Amelia Earhart.
